Privacy Policy for Simple Backing Tracks

Effective date: September 21, 2026

At Daybreak Studios ("we", "us") built Simple Backing Tracks as an app that runs entirely on your device. This policy explains what that means in practice.

We do not collect any data

Simple Backing Tracks does not have an account or login system, does not send any data over the internet itself, and does not use analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services of any kind. The one exception is the optional one-time "Unlock Full Version" in-app purchase, which is handled entirely by Apple's App Store; Apple, not us, processes the payment, and we receive no personal information from it. We — the developer — have no access to your songs, audio files, notes, or any other content you put into the app.

Where your data lives

Everything you create in Simple Backing Tracks — bands, songs, setlists, notes, and the audio tracks you import — is stored locally in the app's storage on your iPad. Nothing is uploaded anywhere automatically.

Backups

The app lets you export a backup file containing your bands, songs and audio. This file is created locally and only leaves your device if you choose to share, save, or transfer it yourself (for example via AirDrop, Files, or iCloud Drive) — that transfer is under your control, not ours.

Permissions

Simple Backing Tracks does not request access to your microphone, camera, contacts, or location. It only reads the audio files you explicitly choose to import via the system file picker.

Children's privacy

Simple Backing Tracks does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds a feature that involves data leaving the device — we'll update this page and the in-app version number accordingly.
